*** Glengoyne is a whiskey distillery in the southern Highlands of Scotland. Whisky has been distilled here, south of Killearn, for over 200 years. After the distillery was officially legalized, it was named Burnfood of Dumgoyne in 1833. in 1905, the distillery was renamed Glengoyne by its new owners, the Lang brothers.

Glengoyne - where High- & Lowlands meet
Glengoyne is located right on the border between Lowlands and Highlands. The road that separates Lowlands and Highlands also divides the company premises into distillery (Highlands area) and warehouses (Lowlands area).
Glengoyne still works in the traditional way. For example, the barley is only dried over charcoal. The 6 wooden washbacks are also still classically made of Oregon pine. Only unpeated malt is used for Glengoyne whiskies, which is common for Highland single malts and brings the aroma of the distillate and the cask to the fore. The casks in which the Glengoyne Highland Single Malts mature are made of American or Spanish oak. Many also come from Andalusia, more precisely from Jerez de la Frontera, and were previously used as sherry casks.
