Pablo, who comes from a traditional Argentine family with roots in cattle ranching and agriculture, and María Laura Toso, whose family name is important in the Mendoza wine industry, support their children in continuing the family business. Hacienda del Plata and the vineyards are where Juan Pablo, Rosario and Inés dedicate their time, energy and creativity to bring out the personality of their wines.
María Laura and Pablo teach their children and their respective families the importance of family strength. They encourage them to take risks and challenge themselves in pursuit of their goals, to look at those who are with them along the way and keep them by their side, to appreciate and be grateful for everything they receive, and above all, to maintain the high values and principles that guided their own ancestors.
The Hacienda del Plata Team
The memories of Carlos E. González O'Donnell, Pablo's father, inspired the names of the wines. From the old and worn pages of his diary, which depicted a simple life on an Andean ranch, a life of yesterday, characters and events came to life. They are captured today in the personality and style of each wine, and through their names they try to keep alive this steep and intense place, along with the loyalty and honesty of the people who lived on this soil not so long ago.
The vineyards of Hacienda del Plata
Two small vineyards, one in Chacras de Coria with 4.5 hectares and the other in Carrodilla with 8 hectares, form the space where the precision of viticulture with the identity of the wines of Hacienda del Plata is created and defined. The cool nights and warm days are in harmony with a peaceful madness, and if we pause for a moment, we see how this ancient and natural process is reflected in the firm skins and juicy grapes that later shower us with bright colors, fragrances and textures. The capacity of the winery today is 140,000 liters. The advanced technology and the fixed useful life of the barrels determine and define a style of wine that is above all the search for the actual, the unique, the exclusive... a search for the root.
