Joseph Perrier - fine champagne from the family business
Joseph Perrier is a sparkling wine producer from the famous Champagne region in France. The champagne house has been run by the family for six generations. The company was founded in 1825 by the entrepreneur of the same name and is located in Châlons-en-Champagne. in 1888, the Pithois family took over, whose side arm in the form of father Jean-Claude and son Benjamin Fourmon now run the House of Joseph Perrier. The house has milestones in its history, such as the court supplier contract for Queen Victoria and King Edward, or the supply of the first Concorde flight in 1976 with champagne from its own cellar.

History in stone - the cellars of Joseph Perrier
At the heart of Joseph Perrier are the ancient cellars, which stretch for nearly 2 miles and originally date back to the 4th century. They were originally Gallo-Roman lime mines and were expanded into the cellars they are today. The cellars have natural ventilation through the many holes that had to be dug to allow the miners access to fresh air, and so today the rooms are cool yet climatically balanced.

In the vineyards of Joseph Perrier
The house has its own vineyards, which are located above the Marne River near Epernay and cover 23 hectares. The vineyards are planted with grass as a natural shelter and sustainable techniques are used to make viticulture possible in the future. The goal is not mass production, but small, very high quality batches. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand to maintain this high quality standard.

The classic grape varieties of the Champagne region are used:
- Chardonnay
- Pinot Noir
- Pinot Meunier
From these, Joseph Perrier currently vinifies various champagnes, for example the main product Cuvée Royale in different flavors, a vintage champagne or a rosé sparkling wine. The house portfolio also includes a sparkling wine from just one parcel, or special series such as Esprit de Victoria, in reference to the history of the house, or Joséphine, in memory of the founder's daughter.
