Mancura Wines
There are many myths, stories and legends about the Andes. The mountain range has been an inspiration to many poets, painters and musicians. A place with a spiritual aura and a unique climate. No wonder, then, that winemakers and oenologists have also discovered this region for themselves.
Mancura of the Morandé Wine Group is a tribute to the probably most famous and largest flying bird in the world, which is native to Chile and the Andes: the condor. With a wingspan of up to three meters, in many tales the stone condor (Manque Cura) is a creature full of strength, intelligence, perseverance and provides a natural balance to the region. The Manque Cura, according to legend, masters the language of the cold and warm winds and makes the clouds rain down on the peaks of the Andes into the valley.
The winery calls itself the guardian and protector of the Andes (guard of the andes). in 2011, the idea of these wines was launched by the Morandé Wine Group. They draw parallels between the skills of Manque Cura and their own vineyards, which also grow and ripen in harmony with the winter rains and fresh mountain winds.
Sustainability takes a central role in the vinification and cultivation of the entire Mancura line. The Morandé Wine Group sustainability concept was the first winery in the region to be officially certified by "Wines of Chile" in all three areas: Vineyard, Winery and Community. The vineyards of all lines of Mancura are managed under the direction of winemaker Jorge Martinez according to organic and sustainable principles and are an ode to the land from which they come: the myth-shrouded Chile!
