Monzio Compagnoni is located in the hills of Franciacorta. In a farmhouse dating back to the 15th century, young, dynamic wines are produced here. The modern, pragmatic mentality is very close to the heart of the owner  Marcello Monzio Compagnoni. He founded the estate in 1987 when he was just over 20 years old. On the family estate he had a modern building constructed, in the spirit of high functionality. in 1989 the first wine, Valcalepio del Colle della Luna, was sold. This was followed by a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir aged in barriques, as well as a Bordeaux cuvée.

The Monzio Compagnoni Estate

in 1995, the long-established Barone Monti della Corte brand was acquired, giving Monzio an additional cellar. Bit by bit, vineyards in the Bergamo region are also rented to expand the portfolio, so that today a total of 8 red wines, 3 whites, a sparkling wine, rosé and Moscato can be offered.

The cellar of Monzio Compagnoni

The vineyards are cultivated with Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Nero and Moscato di Scanzo. Monzio Compagnoni's best sites are Loneto di Adro in Franciacorta and Madonna di Loreto in Centane Sotto near Bergamo. Although they are close to each other, these vineyards produce very different, characteristic wines. Loneto is also home to the farmhouse that is now the headquarters.
