More information about Mukuzani - Winery Chateau Nekresi

The Mukuzani from the pen of Winery Chateau Nekresi from Kakheti offers a bright, ruby-red color in the swirled glass. On the nose, this red wine from Winery Chateau Nekresi reveals all sorts of plums and pomegranates. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as red currant are added thanks to maturation in stainless steel.

Winery Chateau Nekresi’s Mukuzani presents itself to the wine enthusiast as wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. Balanced and multi-faceted, this velvety red wine shows on the palate. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, Mukuzani caresses the palate with a soft feel, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time. On the finish, this highly ageworthy red wine from the Kakheti wine-growing region finally delights with considerable length. Nuances of plum and pomegranate appear once again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the soils dominated by volcanic rock and black earth join in.

Vinification of Winery Chateau Nekresi Mukuzani

The balanced Mukuzani from Georgia is a varietal wine, vinified from the Saperavi grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Kakheti. Here the vines sink their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock and black earth. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house without delay. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before finally being bottled.

Food recommendation for Mukuzani from Winery Chateau Nekresi

This red wine from Georgia is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to stuffed bell peppers, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce, or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
