The Othello Napa Valley from the pen of Christian Moueix of California reveals a dense purple color in the wine glass. With a bit of side lay, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. To the nose, this Christian Moueix red wine reveals all manner of blueberries, blackberries, black currants and mulberries. Full-bodied and complex, this fleshy and dense red wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of California finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of blueberry and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Othello Napa Valley from Dominus Estate

The starting point for Dominus Estate's premium and wonderfully powerful Othello Napa Valley cuvée is Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in California. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of shale. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 14 months in French barriques.

Food recommendation for the Othello Napa Valley from Dominus Estate

This North American is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs, or goose breast with gingered red cabbage and marjoram.
