The history of Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné begins in 1834. The father of Paul and Henry founded the estate in Tain l’Hermitage, which experienced an unprecedented boom under the sons.

Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aine - the history
With the combination of a passion for viticulture and a special terroir, the following generations have also been highly successful. Today, the management of Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné is in the hands of Frédéric Jaboulet and Frédéric Mairesse. In 2006, the Frey family, a winemaking family from Champagne, also joined.
Top quality from Paul Jaboulet wines
The consistently outstanding quality of the domaines from the northern Rhône leaves no doubt about the success of this collaboration! The terroirs remain exceptional, and yields have been reduced. The grapes from almost 100 hectares of vineyards are vinified with the utmost care, prudence, and rigor together with the qualified oenologist Caroline Frey. The wines mature in the Vineum, the thousand-year-old cellar with its Gallo-Roman tunnels. The flagship of the estate is the legendary Hermitage La Chapelle, whose 1961 vintage was named one of the twelve greatest wines of the 20th century.
