More information about Pinot Noir Reserve - Lawson's Dry Hills

With Lawson's Dry Hills Pinot Noir Reserve, a first-class red wine comes into the glass. It displays a wonderfully luminous, bright red color. The initial aroma of the Pinot Noir Reserve presents notes of blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries. The fruity components of the bouquet are complemented by notes from the barrel aging such as vanilla.

This New Zealand wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly distinguishes itself from simpler qualities and, despite its dryness, captivates with a fine balance. Taste does not necessarily require much sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine features an incredibly dense and velvety texture. Its pronounced fruit acidity presents the Pinot Noir Reserve as remarkably fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this well-matured red wine from New Zealand's South Island wine region, specifically from Marlborough, ultimately convinces with an impressive aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the clay-dominated soils.

Vinification of Lawson's Dry Hills Pinot Noir Reserve

The basis for the balanced Pinot Noir Reserve from New Zealand is grapes from the Pinot Noir variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions on New Zealand's South Island. The vines here root deeply into clay soils. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Pinot Noir Reserve are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of strenuous and less selective grape harvesters. After manual harvest, the grape bunches are immediately transferred to the press house. Here they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Pinot Noir Reserve is matured for several months in barriques and 500-liter barrels made of French oak.

Food pairing recommendations for Lawson's Dry Hills Pinot Noir Reserve

Enjoy this red wine from New Zealand ideally chilled at 15 - 18°C as a companion to veal fillet with beans and tomatoes, duck breast with sugar snap peas, or vegetable couscous with beef cutlets.
