An award-winning distillery
At the end of the 18th century, the Ricossa family owned an award-winning distillery on the outskirts of Asti in the Piedmont region.
Almost a century later, Ricossa 's story (fortunately) has not come to an end. Today, behind the walls of the old distillery, Italian tradition is combined with ingenuity to vinify quality wines day after day.
In addition to its high level of professionalism, ingenuity and sophistication, Ricossa has managed to transform itself from a small provincial distillery into an international brand.

Loyalty to Piedmont
The grapes for Ricossa 's beautiful wines are grown and harvested throughout Piedmont. Here, close collaboration with the local farmer is highly valued and cherished. The following grape varieties are used, among others:
- Cortese
- Chardonnay
- Muscat
- Barbera
- Nebbiolo

Appassimento in red and white
Ricossa vinifies both a red wine and a white wine using the Appassimento method. Appassimento stands for the drying of freshly picked grapes. Mostly in the open air - or in well ventilated rooms - the grapes are dried for days. In this way, the water evaporates and the grapes reach a higher sugar concentration.
