Ridge Vineyards was founded in 1962 and has since made a name for itself through the production of exceptional single-vineyard wines. The winery’s philosophy is based on careful handling in winemaking in order to reflect the unique character of each vineyard.

Terroir and cultivation at Ridge Vineyards

The winery is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a growing region known for its diverse microclimates and soil types. This diversity allows Ridge Vineyards to cultivate a wide range of grape varieties, with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay. The soils vary from vineyard to vineyard, with a mix of clay, loess, and stony structures that give the wines their unique minerality and complexity.
