Roner

When Gottfried Roner began distilling in 1946, he laid the foundation for a family business that has been successful for 70 years and is now run by the third generation. If at the beginning it was the production of grappa, then with the purchase of the second still, fruit distillation was added, entirely according to Central European tradition. Thanks to the excellent quality of apples and pears and the talent of the young Gottfried Roner, the young company soon made a name for itself that continues to this day.

With the second generation, starting in the 60's, the distillery was expanded, new equipment for the grappa and fruit distillery, a new fermentation cellar, and laboratories for quality control were installed. In the course of this growth, the Ritterhof winery, on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, was added at the end of the 90s, and the small winery was gradually developed into an excellent wine-growing enterprise with multiple award-winning wines.

In 2007 Karin Roner, now the third generation, took the reins as managing director. The focus at Roner is to maintain tradition, to be open to new technologies and innovations, and to constantly improve the quality of the distillates and grappa. The award in 2010 as "Distiller of the Year" at the International Spirits Competition (ISW) is a well-deserved confirmation and recognition of this.
