Production of the Malecon Rare Proof 20 years by Savio

Alcohol is a key flavor supplier, and in combination with the right aging and perfect barrels, a high alcohol content can extract wonderful aromas from the distillate. Brand owner Marco Savio, in collaboration with experts, has created three special releases. For the Malecon Rare Proof Aged 20 Years, the best casks from the 1999 vintage were selected and blended together. This small, limited batch – also known as Small Batch – was then adjusted to the perfect alcohol strength over several tasting rounds. The wonderfully balanced Malecon Rare Proof Aged 20 Years turned out to be perfect at an alcohol strength of 48.4%. This “rare” alcohol strength – hence the name “Rare Proof” – creates a true explosion of aromas from the 20-year-old rum. It is a delight!
