More information about Sauvignon Blanc - Framingham

The barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc from the wine-growing region of South Island New Zealand presents itself in the glass in a bright light yellow. On the nose, this Framingham white wine offers all kinds of gooseberries. As if that were not already impressive, the maturation in small wooden barrels also adds mineral notes and lime.

This white from Framingham is perfect for all wine enthusiasts who like it dry. At the same time, it never appears lean or austere, but round and smooth. Balanced and multi-layered, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its lively acidity, the Sauvignon Blanc appears wonderfully fresh and vibrant on the palate. The finish of this white wine from the wine-growing region of South Island New Zealand, more precisely from Marlborough, ultimately impresses with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Sauvignon Blanc from Framingham

This white wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Sauvignon Blanc. Only the best grape material was used for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Framingham. The grapes grow close to the river on New Zealand’s South Island. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into gravel soils. Due to the moderating influence of the nearby river, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop greater aromatic complexity. The grapes for this white wine from New Zealand are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day at optimal ripeness, in order to preserve their aromas. After being hand-picked, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Sauvignon Blanc is matured for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendations for the Sauvignon Blanc from Framingham

Enjoy this white wine from New Zealand ideally well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompaniment to omelette with salmon and fennel, asparagus salad with quinoa, or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.
