The SEGUIN-MANUEL winery was founded as early as 1824.

Tradition meets modernity

180 years later, Thibaut Marion bought the estate and renovated it step by step. Marion was born into a winemaking family and is a wine person through and through. His family, who hail from Beaune,  is already the 10th generation in the wine business, so it's no surprise that he also  worked for 7 years in the family business, Chanson Père & Fils.

After the purchase of SEGUIN-MANUEL, Thibaut Marion gradually converted the vineyards to organic cultivation and now they have been certified organic since 2015. The highest quality standards are applied to the work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Every human action is thought through with respect for the wine, the environment and the surroundings. The use of machinery is avoided. In the vineyard special attention is paid to

• biological control
• ploughing of the soil,
• Yield control with short pruning and green harvesting
• and hand harvesting in small boxes

Small boxes. But not only in the mountains but also in the cellar you can feel the love for the grape juice in every move. The grapes are double sorted, naturally fermented in vats, matured in renewed and rejuvenated oak barrels and filtered at the best time for the wine. And only after further ageing in bottle is there nothing to stop it being sold.

The Burgundy

Burgundy includes the departments of Yonne, Côte d'Or, Saône-et-Loire and much of the Rhône. The soils are very diverse in this region. In the Côte d'Or, for example, where SEGUIN-MANUEL owns most of its vineyards, the slopes are mostly composed of calcareous marl. The weather in Burgundy is also unpredictable, as the climatic conditions can vary greatly, despite the best sunshine.

The renaissance of Burgundy

The wines of SEGUIN-MANUEL convince by inner tension, liveliness and fruit concentration. They are fleshy, with a balanced acid structure and have a high maturity potential. Thus, Thibaut Marion contributes to the renaissance of Burgundy with his high-quality selection of wines.
