With the Drinks Cabinet Ltd Sheild Pinot Noir, a first-class vegan red wine flows into the swirling glass. There it offers a wonderfully bright, light red color. This single-varietal New Zealand wine presents delightfully youthful notes of plums in the glass. Added to this are hints of black cherry, clove and mineral tones.

This red wine from Drinks Cabinet Ltd is just right for wine lovers who prefer their wine dry. The Sheild Pinot Noir comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 0.9 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an exceptionally silky texture. Thanks to the moderate acidity, the Sheild Pinot Noir caresses the mouth with a pleasing feel, without sacrificing freshness. On the finish, this wine from the New Zealand South Island wine-growing region delights with remarkable length. Once again, hints of plum appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay- and gravel-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Sheild Pinot Noir by Drinks Cabinet Ltd

The balanced Sheild Pinot Noir from New Zealand is a single-varietal wine, vegan-vinified from the Pinot Noir grape variety. On New Zealand’s South Island, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and gravel soils. The wine grapes for this red wine from New Zealand are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After hand-picking, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the elegant Sheild Pinot Noir is aged for another 15 months in small French oak barrels.
