More information about Syrah Pays d'Oc - Les Jamelles
The Syrah Pays d'Oc from Les Jamelles is a varietal, powerful and balanced red wine from the French wine-growing region of Languedoc-Roussillon.
In the glass, this wine shimmers a rich purple with deep red highlights. On the nose, an appealing bouquet unfolds, dominated by fruity aromas of ripe raspberries, red and black currants. These are joined by spicy hints - especially cinnamon - and a hint of mint. This French red wine convinces the palate with a full-bodied body, which is skillfully taken by a silky texture. The fine tannins accompany into the pleasantly long finish.
Vinification of the Les Jamelles Syrah
The grapes for this red wine grow in the vineyards of the Nîmes area, in the Béziers plain and in the Aude valley. The vines have an average age of 20 years.
After the grapes are harvested, they are immediately taken to the Les Jamelles cellar. There, 70% undergo a long maceration of about 3 weeks. The remaining 30% is subjected to carbonic acid maceration with the grapes whole. After fermentation, 10% of the Syrah is aged for some time in oak barrels.
