Vignoble Chirat was founded in 1925 by Benoit Chirat, who vinified Syrah-based wines that were sold in the pubs of Condrieu, a commune on the Rhône. in 1980, Gilbert Chirat began planting vines on the steep terraces of Condrieu, which would lay the foundation for the company's current success. In the meantime, his son Aurelien has become part of the company and officially founded Vignobles Chirat with his father.

The estate is located on the right bank of the Rhône River, with a southeastern exposure of the terraces. On the slopes, the soil cover is left to limit erosion, and incidentally prevent the use of chemical weed removers. The estate received in 2019 the PDB certificate for sustainable, environmentally friendly cultivation.
Stainless steel tanks and barrels from Saury Allary and Stockinger are used in the cellar. Depending on the wine, the appropriate techniques are selected to achieve the best taste.
