In 1401, Margrave Wilhelm I laid the foundation for the Wettin family’s vineyard holdings, which developed into a stronghold of fine wines. With an electoral wine press and magnificent pleasure houses, Hoflößnitz offered wine-filled celebrations for the high nobility over the centuries. This rich history is shaped by emotional experiences and deeply rooted knowledge.

The soil is fertilized with the greatest care exclusively with organic substances to ensure a natural supply of nutrients. Between the vine rows, legumes such as clover bloom, which not only enrich the soil but also attract beneficial insects. These plants create a rich biomass and contribute to humus formation.

Plant protection is also carried out naturally. The use of sulfur, copper salts and herbal extracts such as fennel oil forms a protective film on the leaves.
