The Schwedhelm winery is located above Zell in the Palatinate. Surrounded by Rheinhessen, it produces wines that are independent yet reflect the character of their region. It is farmed by brothers Stephan and Georg Schwedhelm, who have set themselves the goal of bringing the once-famous Zell Valley back to the forefront of wine regions.

Strong wines from a special region
Typical of the terroir are the clay and limestone soils, which provide a clear, mineral style. The vines are located exclusively on the southern slope, which has a slope of up to 35 degrees. The Zellertal is also home to the coolest sites and the highest mountain in the Palatinate. Rain is quite rare here, so the vines have to root deeply to get water. Special rock formations such as the Wotanfels, a former Celtic cult site, reinforce the already mythical impression of the region, which is reflected in the wines of the estate.
