More information about Schwarzer Herrgott Riesling Große Lage trocken - Schwedhelm Zellertal
The Schwarzer Herrgott Riesling from Schwedhelm Zellertal represents the pinnacle of the winery's range. Schwarzer Herrgott is a site of only 9.8 hectares in Zellertal, which produces only the best wines. Limestone with clay marl dominate the soil of this prime vineyard. This wine comes from the oldest parcel on the mountain, where old limestone walls can still be found, as well as a pre-Christian prayer niche.
Cool and mineral on the nose, these are then found on the palate. Nuances of pear join in, which lead to a pleasant length.
Vinification of the Schwarzer Herrgott Riesling Große Lage by Weingut Schwedhelm
The grapes for this wine are pre-selected twice and only fully ripe handgelsen. After 18 hours of maceration, the must is divided between tonneau and stainless steel tank, followed by spontaneous fermentation before inoculation with pure yeast and cooled fermentation. Until May, the Riesling is allowed to further harmonize on the lees, followed by batonnage. At the end of June, the wine is finally drawn into the bottle.
