The history of the winery began in 1845 when Karl Zotz established a wine trading business in the Heitersheim Maltese Castle. In 1865, the Julius Zotz Winery was founded in close proximity to the castle by Julius Zotz himself. The Zotz family now cultivates approximately 100 hectares of vineyard and has already involved the sixth generation, Julian Zotz, in the family business.
