Zeanto wine in the hills of San Benedetto
The winery of the Zenato family is located in the hills of San Benedetto on the southern shore of Lake Garda in the town of Peschiera del Garda. Since the founding of the winery in 1960, founding father Sergio Zenato has been working with determination and passion on his wines, combined with a constant striving for even better quality. The wines resulting from this work were held in high international esteem, and before long Zenato was regarded as a pioneer of Italian wine growing. Sergio Zenato’s son Alberto continues his father’s life’s work together with his sister Nadia and his mother.

With success – as Italy’s most renowned wine guide Gambero Rosso noted: "Sometimes it seems to us as if the Zenatos had a kind of magic wand with which they can locate the mood frequency of both vineyard and customers equally. In any case, their reds and whites are characterized by a peaceful drinkability, an impressive freshness and a coordinated finesse, without losing the expression of the grape variety or the terroir.
Vinification at the Zenato winery
On the 75 hectares of the Zenato family, red wine varieties predominate, although the share of white grape varieties is steadily increasing.

Gentle work in the vineyard (which includes the finest sites of the DOC regions Lugana and Bardolino) and working in harmony with natural conditions as well as traditional knowledge are prerequisites for the qualities that come onto the market year after year from the house of Zenato. The harvest volumes are in some cases significantly below the average yields of the region.

In the cellars, Alberto Zenato also very conscientiously pursues his own path. After gentle pressing, the must is carefully processed in order to achieve a controlled and slow fermentation. It is then refined in wooden casks, also by variety, and finally bottled.
Great diversity in white and red wines

Under senior Sergio Zenato, the family winery has established itself as a pioneer for Lugana wine. In the meantime, this Italian white wine made from the Trebbiano grape forms the spearhead of the range from Zenato.
The range extends from Bardolino Chiaretto DOC and Bardolino DOC as everyday wines through Ripassa Valpolicella Superiore DOC to the king of Venetian wines, Amarone della Valpolicella DOC.
