Bodega Gimenez Riili - one hour's walk to the Andes
At Gimenez Riili, grapes are handpicked only at the absolutely right moment and brought via a conveyor belt for grape and berry selection. A second selection then takes place on a vibrating sorting table to ensure the highest quality from the very beginning. The selected grapes are transported to the tanks without pressing or pumping, where the maceration and later fermentation begins, transforming the berries into excellent wines.
The winery at Gimenez Riili is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, temperature control systems, stainless steel tanks, and a selection of French oak barrels. All of this allows for the application of traditional methods in a controlled environment. The secret is a clever combination of technology and intuition to find the perfect timing for each process. The result is great Gimenez Riili wines, all true works of art. Only top-quality grapes are used from low-yield but high-quality vineyards that express the vibrancy and freshness of the Buenos Hermanos (Good Brothers), the wisdom and maturity of the Padres dedicados (dedicated parents), and the unique complexity of each Gran Familia (Great Family).

Gimenez Riili, rooted since the 19th century
Since the 19th century, the fire of passion for viticulture has been flowing in the veins of the Gimenez Riili family. In 1890, Don Fernando Riili, along with his wife and five of his thirteen children, came from Sicily to Argentina to explore new horizons. The family settled in Colonia Segovia in the province of Mendoza. It is said that the charming soil of this region encouraged Don Fernando to realize his dream of having his own vineyard outside of Europe.

Amidst this arduous work, eight of his children were born, including Fernando Riili Junior. Together, they founded Bodega Gimenez Riili, one of the first family wineries in the region, offering good wine by the bottle to their neighbors. Years later, Fernando Riili Junior married Irma Gudiño, who gave birth to two girls, María and Susana Riili. This is the story of the Riili family, a story of dreams and prosperity. Meanwhile, in 1905, Don Pedro Gimenez Padilla traveled from the magical land of Granada in Spain to Argentina with his parents and siblings. The Giménez family settled in Maipú, specifically in a district called Kilómetro 8, dedicating themselves to farming.
How Riili and Gimenez became Bodega Gimenez Riili
Don Pedro was already married to Ángela Escobar and was the father of seven children, including Eduardo, and dreamed of having his own vineyard. In 1945, this dream came true when he purchased a property in La Primavera, Maipú. Together with his children, he threw himself into the meticulous work of planting the vines. This is the story of the efforts and yearnings of the Gimenez family. A few years later, Eduardo Gimenez met Susana Riili. They married on a warm December day in 1967.

The two stories merge into one, and all their dreams and passions begin to intertwine. After their father's death, Eduardo and his siblings purchased a winery in Rodeo de la Cruz in Guaymallén, where they began producing and selling their own wines. Building on their hard work, the Gimenez siblings established a larger winery in 1979, also in Rodeo de la Cruz, to continue the family tradition. From the love between Eduardo and Susana, five boys were born. From a young age, they nurtured and cared for the passion for viticulture that they inherited from their parents and ancestors. The Gimenez Riili now share a single story that arises from family bonds, diversity of opinion, and the commitment to advance with passion, brotherhood, and hard work.
