Bodegas Piqueras

Bodegas Piqueras is a family-owned winery with a proud history of over 100 years, now run by a fourth generation of winemakers, oenologists, and viticulturists. We take pride in producing quality wines based on native grape varieties like Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell from the DO Almansa region.

Our vineyards extend around the castle of Almansa, with vines up to 90 years old and grapes of high concentration and quality. These conditions are perfectly suited to produce unique red and white wines with a high expressive capacity.

Our Wines

At Bodegas Piqueras, we have been passionately making wine for over a century. Our wines are the result of the efforts of four generations that reflect the essence of our region and our people. They are modern, elegant, and expressive wines that stand out for the use of native grape varieties. We mainly work with the varieties Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell, both indigenous to the DO Almansa.

Our primary goal is to offer quality wines by controlling the entire production process, from selecting the grapevines to designing the labels, always preserving and reflecting our origins and history.

 Family History

We are a family-run winery in the fourth generation, founded in 1915 by the Piqueras family. Our location is in Almansa, in the southeast of Spain, just 60 km from Alicante and the Mediterranean Sea.

Our own vineyards are located in a wine-producing region of DO Almansa, characterized by fertile soil with low nutrient supply and low rainfall. This environment, along with a continental, semi-arid climate, allows us to produce grapes of high color intensity and aromatic quality.

Since our founding by our great-grandfather Luis in 1915, we have maintained our family identity. Our history and tradition are reflected in how we manage our vineyards and in the production of high-quality wines that we export to over 45 countries.

Bodegas Piqueras is part of the Almansa designation of origin, a geographical region in the southeast of Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha, known for its Mediterranean, continental climate and its calcareous soils. These conditions contribute to the production of high-quality grapes.
