Bodegas Valdemar

Bodegas Valdemar is found in the Basque Country, with sites in both Rioja Alta and Alavesa and Baja. The wines were and are formative for the Rioja style, which is still reflected in the wines of their Conde Valdemar series. The quality of the wines is confirmed by multiple awards from Wine Spectator, Robert Parker and Wine & Spirits.

The estate has been run by the Bujanda family for five generations and has one of the most modern wineries in Spain. They were the first in Europe to introduce computerized fermentation temperature control. This is also where the first Reserva was made from 100% Garnacha, as well as the first Spanish white wine vinified in wooden barrels. A white Tempranillo cultivation is also among the successes, as well as many other novelties.
