In the glass, the Brut Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs from Mallol Gantois presents a bright golden-yellow color. The mousse of this sparkling wine appears in the glass as extremely fine, elegant, and long-lasting. When the glass is swirled, this sparkling wine reveals a perfect balance, as it does not cling to the sides of the glass in a watery, syrupy, or liqueur-like way. The nose of this sparkling wine from Champagne delights with aromas of green apple, brioche, peach, and lemon. Following the bouquet further, broom notes emerge.
On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced Champagne is wonderfully light, crisp, and creamy. The finish of this sparkling wine from the Champagne wine-growing region, more precisely from Champagne itself, ultimately convinces with a beautiful aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of Mallol Gantois Brut Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs
This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Chardonnay. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Mallol Gantois, only flawless grape material was harvested. In Champagne, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils. The Brut Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs is unmistakably shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of Champagne. In the truest sense of the word, this French wine can be described as an Old World wine, presenting itself as extraordinarily refined and complex. The ripening of the Chardonnay grapes for this wine is significantly influenced by the climate of the growing region. In Champagne, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripening grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently pressed. Fermentation of the base wines then takes place. After the composition of the final Champagne, further maturation follows based on the Méthode Traditionelle. The Mallol Gantois Brut Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs then matures in the bottle for several months before being disgorged.
