Clos Montblanc

The Clos Montblanc winery is not only known for its exquisite wines, but also for its deep connection to nature and tradition. With 80 hectares of land and 15 different grape varieties, Clos Montblanc has created an impressive collection of wines that offer a wide range of nuances and characteristics to satisfy every customer.

History and heritage

The history of the winery goes back more than 300 years. In 1988, the Carbonell Figueras family, who have a long tradition in viticulture, launched the “Clos Montblanc” project. The winery is located in Barberà de la Conca, just a stone’s throw from two emblematic sites of Catalan history: the fortified town of Montblanc and the monastery of Poblet. This is a land full of history and tradition, where over a thousand years ago Cistercian monks settled to discover the path to perfection.

The wines of Clos Montblanc

The wines of Clos Montblanc are a reflection of the rich history and terroir of the region. They combine local and international grape varieties to create unique flavor profiles:

• Red wines: Combine local varieties such as Trepat, Ull de Llebre or Grenache with foreign varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah.
• White wines: Harmonize the traditional Macabeu of the region with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
• Rosé wines: Made from varieties such as Trepat, Ull de Llebre, Merlot, Cabernet and Pinot Noir.

The cellar of Clos Montblanc is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers space for more than 1,000 barrels from various cooperages of French and American origin. The winery’s oenologist, Josep Valdrí, has worked in various environments and produced wines together with colleagues from regions as diverse as France, Chile and Australia.
