More information about Côtes du Rhône AOC - M. Chapoutier

The powerful Côtes du Rhône M. Chapoutier shimmers with dense purple-red into the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals delightfully complex aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, blackberry, and mulberry, rounded off with oriental spices, vanilla, and cinnamon.

This dry red wine from M. Chapoutier is perfect for wine lovers who cannot drink their wine dry enough. The Côtes du Rhône comes quite close, as it is made with only 0.7 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this full-bodied red wine is wonderfully silky and dense. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Côtes du Rhône caresses the palate with a velvety mouthfeel while maintaining a fresh note. The youthful wine from the Rhône Valley impresses with good length in the finish, again showing hints of blackcurrant and blackberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay and limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Côtes du Rhône from M. Chapoutier

The basis for the powerful Côtes du Rhône from the Rhône Valley is grapes from the Grenache and Syrah varieties. The vines producing the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone in the Rhône Valley. The grapes for this French red wine are harvested exclusively by hand at the optimal maturity. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately transferred to the winery. Here they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by aging for several months on fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
