Already at the beginning of the 19th century, the Chapoutier family from France devoted itself to wine production. Since then, the vineyards located in the valleys of the Rhône have been cherished and tended by family members.
Winery M. Chapoutier – First act, then hope
This is the motto of the winemakers at the M. Chapoutier winery. And they have set themselves the highest goal: to find the recipe for the perfect wine. To achieve this goal, an oenologist needs not only the necessary willpower and courage to take risks, but also that certain little bit of luck. A very ambitious challenge, therefore, that the winemakers at M. Chapoutier face every day. In 1990, Michel Chapoutier took over the winery from his parents. He is the one who continues the success story and works constantly to establish the winery. In doing so, he also tries to give his own wine creations an individual character.

A true forge of character
Michel Chapoutier does not lack the necessary courage to create something new. Through small experiments he gives his wines a completely individual character. The vineyards are mainly planted with indigenous and pure grape varieties such as
- Grenache
- Mourvedre
- Syrah
- Grenache Blanc
- Roussanne
- Ugni Blanc
- Vermentino
- Viognier
All efforts have paid off so far. The Chapoutier brand and its wine creations are particularly highly regarded among wine connoisseurs. Moreover, it is important to the winemaker that the products represent the flavorful diversity of Rhône wines. Products such as the delicious red wine called Barbe Rac Châteauneuf du Pape meet this standard, for example. But wine varieties such as Rasteau Côtes du Rhône Villages or Belleruche Côtes du Rhône are also very popular among wine lovers.

Chapoutier is biodynamic: tomorrow and the day after tomorrow
Michel Chapoutier also wants to live up to his high standards in the future. Respect for nature plays a major role at the winery. Pesticides or artificial fertilizers are, for example, not used. Instead, the wine estate relies on biodynamic cultivation, which gives Chapoutier wines their unique character. In constant harmony with nature, grape varieties such as Marsanne, Grenache and Syrah mature. These wines form the basis for all the manifold products that are produced in this family business. For by now, the cultivation areas of the winery are not only located in France. Vines from the house of Chapoutier also thrive in Australia and Portugal. A diversity that is certainly also an important reason why experienced wine critics such as Robert Parker, for example, lavish praise on the winery.
