More information

La Bernardine  Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC by M. Chapoutier is a concentrated, finely fruity wine with almost burgundy finesse from the world-famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyard in the southern Rhone Valley. In the glass it appears with intense crimson color, on the nose this southern French red wine unfolds complex, fine aromas with lots of red fruit, scents of strawberry and wild raspberry jam, spicy nuances of colorful pepper and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the taste is balanced and rich in extracts, you can feel the fruity elegance of the Grenache grape. In the finish, the fruit changes into a fine spicy, long and multi-layered reverberation

Vinification of La Bernardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC by M. Chapoutier

For this Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the wine-growing region of the same name in the south of France, Michel Chapoutier is mainly vinified the Grenache grape, with very little Syrah and Mourvèdre. The vines grow on old gravel terraces, mixed with red, sandy clay at the historic river course of the Rhone. The soils release the heat stored during the day to the vines at night, the climate here is hot and dry. The grapes are harvested extremely selectively, the rules for the wine Châteauneuf-du-Pape are very strict, so it is ensured that only the very best grapes are used for this world-class wine from France. After manual harvesting, the grapes are pressed, then fermented for three weeks at a controlled temperature to obtain the highest possible extract of colour and tannins. The wine then matures for 12 to 15 months in concrete tanks.
