Tasca d'Almerita is known for its IGT Regaleali wines (red, rosé and white). Its Rosso del Conte is as much a classic as the white Nozze d´Oro, both with exceptional aging potential. On the newly planted vineyards of Tasca d'Almerita, impressive wines from Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are being created.

Tasca d'Almerita - winery with history

The history of the Tasca d'Almerita estate began back in 1830, when the brothers Don Lucio and Don Carmelo Mastrogiovanni Tasca acquired the former Regaleali fiefdom in the countryside near Sclafani. Today, the family-run Tasca d'Almerita estate cultivates 400 hectares of vineyards. As early as 1871, the wine from Regaleali was awarded an honorary medal at the exhibition in Syracuse.

At Tasca they simply want to ensure that many more generations will follow the 8 generations of successful viticulture. This is only possible if you not only take from the environment, but also give back. The best way to do this is through sustainability, through minimal use of chemicals and sensible management of the soils and nature. Sostain is a program that enables Tasca d'Almerita to learn over the years where and how the winery affects its environment.

The wines of Tasca d'Almerita

In addition to the classic Tasca d'Almerita wines of Tenuta Regaleali, wonderfully expressive white and red wines are also created under the Sallier de la Tour label. There is great diversity in the grape varieties here. Especially the Sicilian classics, such as

• Grillo and
• Nero d'Avola

but also top international varieties such as

• Syrah or
• Cabernet Sauvignon

can be found in the vineyards of Tasca d'Almerita. All of the wines are so brilliantly typical of their varieties that the winery was named Winery of the Year in 2012 by Gambero Rosso. One reason for this is certainly the oenologists Laura Orsi and Carlo Ferrini, who lend the wines their impressive signature.
