Good Hope Sauvignon Blanc - Danie de Wet

The Good Hope Sauvignon Blanc from the Breede River Valley winegrowing region offers a brilliant shimmering light yellow in the glass. The bouquet of this white wine from the Breede River Valley delights with aromas of papaya, apple, guava and star fruit. If we trace the aromatics further, green peppers, Mediterranean herbs and juniper are added.

The Danie de Wet Good Hope Sauvignon Blanc presents itself to the wine connoisseur wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp and light texture. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Breede River Valley wine-growing region finally delights with good length. Once again, hints of star fruit and Gallia melon show through. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and clay are added.

Vinification of the Danie de Wet Good Hope Sauvignon Blanc

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Sauvignon Blanc. For this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Danie de Wet, only first-class grape material was brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Breede River Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Good Hope Sauvignon Blanc is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
