More information about Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir - Gerard Bertrand

In the glass, the organically produced Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir from Gerard Bertrand presents a dense, light red color. If you give it some air by swirling it in the glass, this red wine reveals great density and richness, which is reflected in pronounced church windows on the glass. The bouquet of this red wine from Languedoc impresses with nuances of blackberry, mulberry, blueberry and blackcurrant. Following the aromas further, notes of oriental spices, black tea and gingerbread spice emerge, enhanced by the influence of oak.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As one would naturally expect from a top-tier wine, this French wine, despite its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Languedoc wine-growing region finally captivates with lovely length. Hints of mulberry and blueberry once again become apparent.

Vinification of Gerard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir

This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Pinot Noir. For this wonderfully powerful varietal wine from Gerard Bertrand, only immaculate grapes were used. Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir is an Old World wine through and through, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. A very strong influence on the ripeness of the grapes is also exerted by the fact that the Pinot Noir grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Gerard Bertrand Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir

Experience this organic red wine from France at its best when served at 15 - 18°C as a companion to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, boiled veal rump with beans and tomatoes, or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
