Winery Gérard Bertrand – simple and ecological

The fact that wines made from organically grown grapes are also convincing in terms of taste is demonstrated by his new organic wine line Biobon: organic wines with the customary Gérard Bertrand quality statement which, as a kind of special bonus, are ecologically certified (French organic label AB Ecocert) and reach the market with environmentally friendly components (ProCork3 corks, labels made from recycled paper, packaging made from untreated cardboard).

Gérard Bertrand wines are produced sustainably

Alongside his commitment to sustainable winegrowing, Bertrand, as one of the most important producers in Languedoc-Roussillon, is also involved in supporting the young AOC Languedoc (appellation status since the end of 2007), which extends across the winegrowing regions of southern France from Nîmes down to the eastern Pyrenees. To establish strong brands here, the brand club "Origine Languedoc" was founded, in which Gerard Bertrand, together with major producers such as Jeanjean, Foncalieu, Val d'Orbieu, Castel, the Vignerons Catalans and Skalli, is promoting the new AOC.

Châteaux and estates

With now 16 châteaux and vineyards in the best locations of southern France, Bertrand has become an ambassador for the great wines of Languedoc. More than 850 hectares of vineyards are cultivated by the Gérard Bertrand group.
