Gérard Bertrand's powerful L'Hospitalitas La Clape shimmers into the glass with a dense purple color. After the initial swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Gérard Bertrand red wine shows all sorts of morello cherries, blackberries, blueberries, plums and mulberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, bitter chocolate, cinnamon and black tea join the mix due to the aging in small wooden barrels.
The Gérard Bertrand L'Hospitalitas La Clape delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Frenchman naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Languedoc, more precisely from La Clape, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by limestone and marl.

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée L'Hospitalitas La Clape by Gérard Bertrand are Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Languedoc. This French wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, and it is extraordinarily impressive. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately enter the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, L'Hospitalitas La Clape is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. The aging in oak barrels is followed by extensive bottle aging, which makes this red wine even more complex.
