Domaine Mur-Mur-Ium is located not far from the village of Mormoiron at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Ventoux borders Côtes de Provence to the south, Vacqueyras and Gigondas to the north, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape to the west. Some of the best vintage wines of the southern Rhône Valley come from this region. The estate is now owned by the Pichon family, Marc acquired it in 2006 and is now run by his sister Véronique. The Pichons' belief in the quality of the terroir has paid off.

founded in 1995, the estate now covers 60 hectares. The climate is Mediterranean and correspondingly hot. The mistral, which brings fresh air down from Mont Ventoux, provides cooling. White clay and limestone are the main components of the soil, which here is partly rocky and partly sandy. This gives Mur-Mur-Ium the opportunity to select the most suitable sites for their grape varieties.

The wine with the bee

Grenache Noir, Syrah, Marselan and Pinot Noir are grown for red wines, while white grape varieties include Roussanne, Clairette, Vermentino and Viognier. The whites are typically aged in stainless steel tanks, while the reds ferment in concrete. For these, aging also follows in barrique for about 6 months.

Since 2018, Domaine Mur-Mur-Ium is certified organic, so all wines are also suitable for the connoisseur with a green conscience. A beekeeper has also set up hives in the vineyards, producing honey with a special touch. This is also reflected in the logo of the brand today.
