The old wine cellar of the winery Felsina

Courage that pays off

1966 was not an easy time for Italian winemakers - but Domenico Poggiali Fèlsina dared to buy a winery during that time. His idea was to invest in the quality of the wines and in a competent, young team.

The courage has paid off over the years. Today, the Fèlsina winery owns over 40 hectares of vineyards and has managed to combine modern conditions with tradition through passion for wine, negotiating skills and good management.

The Felsina winery and its faces

In the 70's Giuseppe Mazzocolin joined the family winery and was one of the founders of its international recognition. With his high work ethic and respect for Tuscan and Italian culture, he paved the way to the international market.

The long friendship with Luigi Veronelli and the collaboration of oenologist Franco Bernabei also marked the development of the Fèlsina winery.

For more than 50 years now, Domenico and Giuseppe Poggiali have been writing the history of the Fèlsina winery. Since 1990 Giuseppe's son, Giovanni Poggiali, has also been working in the family business.

Where Sangiovese feels at home

The vineyards of Fèlsina are characterized by different soils and microclimates. This is how the wines gain their unique and individual character. The Sangiovese (or as they say in Tuscany Sangioveto) is the heart of the Fèlsina winery.
The combination of the terroir and the grape variety creates an inseparable element of Fèlsina 's past and future - and you can feel it in every glass. Whether in a bottle of:

    • Chianti Colli Senesi
    • Chianti Classico
    • Maestro Raro
    • Rància Chianti Classico Riserva
