More information about Gavi di Gavi DOCG - Villa Sparina
The Gavi di Gavi from Villa Sparina in Piedmont presents a brilliant, platinum yellow color in the glass. The first nose of the Gavi di Gavi reveals notes of quince, apples and pears. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by even more fruity, balsamic nuances.
On the palate, the Gavi di Gavi from Villa Sparina opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. This light white wine is light-footed and complex on the palate. The finish of this mature white wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Gavi DOCG, is impressive with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay and marl-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Villa Sparina Gavi di Gavi
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Cortese. Only flawless grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Villa Sparina. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay and marl soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
