More information about Grande Réserve Brut 1,5 l Magnum - Dourdon Vieillard
The elegant Grande Réserve Brut 1.5 l Magnum from Dourdon Vieillard splashes into the glass with a bright light red color. The perlage of this sparkling wine shimmers in the glass with incredible finesse, elegance and persistence. Swirling the glass, one can perceive an unparalleled balance in this sparkling wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the sides of the glass. On the nose, this Dourdon Vieillard sparkling wine presents all kinds of pears, oranges and lemons. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as almond and lime are added thanks to maturation in stainless steel.
On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced sparkling wine is wonderfully light, crisp and creamy. On the finish, this wine from the Champagne wine-growing region ultimately delights with a lovely length. Hints of pear and orange appear once again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone- and clay-dominated soils also join in.
Vinification of the Dourdon Vieillard Grande Réserve Brut 1.5 l Magnum
The balanced Grande Réserve Brut 1.5 l Magnum from France is a cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. In Champagne, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and limestone soils. Without question, the Grande Réserve Brut 1.5 l Magnum is also shaped by the climate and winemaking style of Champagne. This French wine can quite literally be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself as extraordinarily distinguished and complex. The ripeness of the grapes for this wine made from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir is influenced to a very large extent by the climate of the growing region. In Champagne, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and even grape clusters and a rather moderate must weight. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently pressed. This is followed by the fermentation of the base wines. After the assemblage of the Champagne, further maturation takes place based on the Méthode Traditionelle. This is followed by bottle aging for 6 months.
