More information about Heritage 1650 La Clape - Gérard Bertrand

With the Gérard Bertrand Heritage 1650 La Clape comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully dense, purple color. To the nose, this Gérard Bertrand red wine shows all sorts of plums, blackberries, black cherries, black currants and blueberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the aging in small wooden barrels adds cinnamon, vanilla and black tea.

This French wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this Frenchman naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and velvety texture. In the finish, this wine from the Languedoc wine region finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by marl and limestone are added.

Vinification of the Gérard Bertrand Heritage 1650 La Clape

This powerful red wine from France is made from Carignan, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. In Languedoc, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone and marl. The grapes for this red wine from France are harvested exclusively by hand, at the time of optimal ripeness. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the powerful Heritage 1650 La Clape is aged for another 8 months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Heritage 1650 La Clape is gently harmonized.
