More information about Heritage 560 Tautavel - Gerard Bertrand

The barrel-aged Heritage 560 Tautavel from the Languedoc wine-growing region presents itself in the glass with a dense purple red. This French cuvée shows wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, mulberries, blueberries and blackcurrants in the glass. There are also hints of gingerbread spice, cinnamon and cocoa bean.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Frenchman enchants with the finest balance. Flavour does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Languedoc wine-growing region finally impresses with a beautiful length. Once again, hints of blackcurrant and blackberry appear.

Vinification of Gerard Bertrand Heritage 560 Tautavel

The basis for the powerful Heritage 560 Tautavel from the Languedoc consists of grapes from the Carignan, Grenache and Syrah varieties. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Heritage 560 Tautavel is matured for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Gerard Bertrand Heritage 560 Tautavel

This red wine from France is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfectly suited as a companion to boiled fillet of veal with beans and tomatoes, duck breast with sugar snap peas or fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce.
