The history of the Kaltern Winery has been written for many years. It took more than a century for the winery to become what it is today and what it stands for: professionalism, passion, family community, experience and the highest quality standards.

A whole village lives for wine

Today, the Kaltern Winery is one of the most important wineries in South Tyrol. Kaltern itself is proud of its reputation as the most popular and well-known wine village in the Italian region. But Kaltern is not only a special place for wine lovers and connoisseurs from near and far. The whole village lives with and from wine. Wine sets the tone here every day, gives and makes work, fills residents and winegrowers with pride and is for many here a life's work, which they pursue with great passion - whether in the vineyard, in the cellar, in gastronomy or in trade.

Winery Kaltern

In Kaltern, wine stands first and foremost for enjoyment and quality. But what makes the small community on South Tyrol's largest natural bathing lake and its wine so unique are the people behind it. The spirit, the euphoria, the common striving to carry the wine and the image of the village out into the world. The Kaltern W inery plays an important role in this and relies on what it stands for: consistent quality through united forces.

The Kaltern Winery has an eventful and successful history

The history of the Kaltern Winery began in 1900. In other words, more than a century that, in addition to long, exhausting war years and the secession of South Tyrol from Austria, also tells the eventful history of Kaltern's five wineries - of glorious times as imperial and royal purveyors to the court, of economic crises and upswings, of mergers and consistent quality orientation in viticulture. In the 21st century, this has given rise to a cellar cooperative with 650 members and 450 hectares of vineyards.
