More information about Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc - Marisco

The light-bodied Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc Marisco shimmers into the glass with a brilliant light yellow color. The first nose of the Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc presents notes of gallia melon, physalis and star fruit. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by Mediterranean herbs, smoked meat and brown bread.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 3 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this New Zealander naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate.

Vinification of the Marisco Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc

The elegant Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is a single-varietal wine made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. On New Zealand's South Island, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of weathered rock. Due to the moderating influence of the nearby river, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop more aromatic partiality. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day to preserve their aromas. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Leefield Station Sauvignon Blanc from Marisco

This New Zealander is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to Thai cucumber salad, roasted trout with ginger pear or lemon chili chicken with bulgur.
