The hills of Veneto as a unique origin for wines of world renown of Cantina Masi

Masi Agricola produces wines using mainly indigenous grape varieties and also combining traditional and modern winemaking techniques. The uniqueness and personality of each grape variety, as well as the particular regional style, is reflected in each and every Masi product. Without a doubt, Masi has revolutionized winemaking in Veneto, is a "touchstone for Veronese wines" as the great wine literary Hugh Johnson puts it.
The areas of today's 'Veneto' Italian for Veneto have always been particularly suitable for viticulture. Thanks to a great variety of historically recognized soils and vineyard sites.
Masi has selected the best vineyards in the foothills and hills, paying particular attention to the enhancement of each vineyard so-called 'Cru', which express the excellence of the region and from which wines with a unique personality can be made.

Living history of the Masi Agricola estate

The story of Masi is the story of a family and its vineyards in the Veneto region of Italy, north of the city of Verona. The name itself derives from "Vaio dei Masi", the small valley acquired at the end of the 18th century in Valpolicella by the Boscaini family, which still owns it today.

Today Sandro Boscaini, with the support of his children Alessandra, Raffaele and Mario, runs the company. The Masi family is present in the best terroirs of Veneto with vineyards and historic estates. Since 1973, the Boscaini's have been working in Valpolicella with the Counts Serego Alighieri, direct descendants of the poet Dante. All this is done as part of the ambitious project to restore the splendor of the agricultural and viticultural tradition of the nobility.

Masi Agricola - tradition and innovation together under one roof

The historic headquarters of the winery is located in 'Gargagnago di Valpolicella' in the heart of the Valpolicella area. There, visitors can view a grape drying stand, a technique in which Masi has world-renowned expertise. The technique itself and the dry red wine Amarone produced from the dried grapes are mainly responsible for the renown and uniqueness of the wines of Azienda Agricola Masi. A visit to the cellar, one of the largest in Italy, is impressive and breathes living history step by step. In the specially equipped experimental cellar, where the 'Masi Technical Group' applies and compares the most innovative technologies for winemaking and aging, a whole new generation of Masi wines is born in the creative process.
