Vinification of Osar Rosso del Veronese from Masi Agricola

This robust Italian red wine is vinified from the Oseleta grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Veneto. The vines dig their roots deep into soils rich in clay and limestone. Osar Rosso del Veronese is a true Old World wine in the best sense of the word, exuding an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. An undeniable influence on the development of the harvest is the fact that Oseleta grapes thrive under a warm climate. This is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a somewhat higher alcohol content in the wine. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the presshouse. Here, they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in small wooden casks at controlled temperatures. This vinification is followed by a 36-month aging period in oak barrels. After barrel aging, the wine undergoes a long bottle aging process, further enhancing its complexity.
