More information

The Serralunga d 'Alba Barolo DOCG by Fontanafredda is presented in the glass garnet red with ruby red reflections. In the large red wine or Bordeaux glass, this flagship unfolds intense aromas of dark fruits, complemented by vanilla, spices and roses. Mineral nuances and hints of undergrowth perfectly complete the bouquet of Fontanafredda Serralunga Barolo.

On the palate, this Barolo from Fontanafredda is absolutely dry, yet soft and velvety. A full-bodied and harmonious red wine from Fontanafredda with a long-lasting finish.

Vinification of Fontanafredda Serralunga d 'Alba Barolo

This pure Barolo is vinified Nebbiolo grapes, the vines of which are rooted in soils of limestone, grey marl and sand. After harvesting the grapes in October, fermentation continues in a traditional way. This is carried out temperature-controlled over a period of 15 days in stainless steel tanks. The must remains in contact with the peels for a further 15 days to optimise the extraction of colour and aromas.

This red wine is then aged for one year in barriques and for another year in large French oak barrels. To give the Serralunga d 'Alba Barolo the finishing touch, it is stored in the bottle for at least another year.
