PLAIMONT - Origin

Located in the heart of the Southwest, from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the rolling hills of Gascony, the Plaimont cooperative's vineyards stretch across terroirs of unique richness.

In the mid-1970s, André Dubosc a native of Gascony and third generation winemaker, decided to improve the reputation of the wines of the southwest. With the support of an enthusiastic team of young, enthusiastic winemakers, he created the dry, white country wines that are now IGP Côtes de Gascogne, revived the Saint Mont appellation and launched the late harvest Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh. In 1979, these men, uniting their love and know-how for the best terroir, decide to join forces by merging their wineries and businesses. They created the Plaimont cooperative ("Pl" for Plaisance, "Ai" for Aignan and "Mont" for Saint-Mont).

Plaimont AOC St Mont

Since its creation, the Plaimont cooperative has acquired the region's finest châteaux and estates, where it has rebuilt its exemplary vineyards and developed a new ambition in the service of the collective. The Condom winery and other smaller estates have also joined Plaimont and contributed to its development.

PLAIMONT present

Within a few decades, Plaimont has become the leader in wines from the southwest of France. Its plant heritage the listed vineyard, its ampelographic conservatory and its architectural heritage the Château Arricau-Bordes, the Château de Sabazan, the Château Saint-Go, the Saint-Mont Monastery, the Domaine de Cassaigne ..., represent the excellence of Plaimont's production.

Plaimont Still Life

PLAIMONT winegrowers' cooperative and philosophy

Plaimont is a large group of cooperatives, estates and châteaux and is both a social and economic actor. Everything this group creates comes back to the winegrowers and their local environment according to three basic principles. Working together in creating and doing good, in justly rewarding effort and talent. For almost 40 years now, Plaimont has supported hundreds of young winegrowers in their business, encouraging mutual help and solidarity. 800 winegrowing families, 200 employees, 5,300 hectares of vines.
