More information about Pomerol AOP - Château Gazin

In the glass, the Pomerol from Château Gazin presents a bright purple-red color. At the rim, this French red also shows a transition into garnet red. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals an outstanding balance, as it appears on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. The nose of this red wine from Bordeaux captivates with hints of raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry and violet. As we follow the bouquet further, mint/balm notes join in.

On the palate, the Pomerol from Château Gazin opens pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this harmonious red wine is characterized by an exceptionally velvety texture. The finish of this matured red wine from the Bordeaux wine-growing region, more precisely from Pomerol, is ultimately impressive with its remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Pomerol from Château Gazin

This balanced red wine from France is blended from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on gravel soils. Naturally, the Pomerol is influenced by more than just the Pomerol soil. In the best sense of the word, this French wine can be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive manner. At the point of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Pomerol are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of strenuous and barely selective mechanical harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for Château Gazin Pomerol

Enjoy this red wine from France ideally at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to leek soup, boeuf bourguignon or vegetable stew with pesto.
