More information about Pomerol AOP - Clos du Cocher
With the Clos du Cocher Pomerol comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully dense, crimson color. At the edge also shows a color transition to garnet red. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. This French cuvée shows wonderfully expressive notes of black currants, blackberries and violets in the glass. These are joined by hints of mint/melissa.
The Clos du Cocher Pomerol presents itself to the wine lover wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety. In the finish, this mature wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of blackberry and black currant appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by gravel and clay are added.
Vinification of the Pomerol of Clos du Cocher
The basis for the powerful Pomerol from France are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and gravel. Pomerol is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The grapes for this red wine from France, when perfectly ripe, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 18 months in oak barriques.
